Scholarships

The project

The project "Scholarships to study for former foster youth" is an aid for those young people over 18 years old who have passed through the system of protection of minors. Our goal is that no former foster youth who have demonstrated their desire to continue studying, fail to do so because they do not have the financial or material resources necessary to do so. In this way, the project is intended to cover all the tuition costs of those former foster youth that we have previously selected, so that, once they leave the center, they can continue studying and training.

We want to reward their efforts and promote their social and labor integration by providing them with the necessary training and material resources so that they can successfully enter the labor market. To ensure the success of this project, we carry out a strict process when selecting the candidates and we guarantee the monitoring of the child through the figure of the mentor who accompanies the young person providing emotional support.

How it works

Every year, from Soñar Despierto we launch a call for scholarships so that all those adolescents (who are living in shelters and who are going to reach the age of majority) and want to continue their education once they leave the protection system, can continue to do so.

After receiving all applications, the scholarship team conducts a series of interviews after which the new class of scholarship recipients (around 30 each year) will be selected.

These scholarships will be financed thanks to donations from different companies and/or individuals who believe in the project and want to "sponsor" it.

In addition, throughout the duration of their training, each scholarship recipient will have a volunteer who will act as a mentor.

Location

The scholarship project is carried out in both Madrid and Barcelona.
